DESCRIPTION:
This is a stunning C1910 mahogany & oak brass frame 28 drawer over 4 solid drawer haberdashery display counter. This cabinet has a mahogany panelled base with 4 inset solid deep stained pine drawers with brass cup handles. The display drawers have oak front sides and are set off against brass pull handles with inset name tags. Each handle is etched with the cabinet maker’s name: Grants shopfitter of Edinburgh, renowned for quality shop fitting. Notably, the display drawers are fitted with small front rollers, making opening and closing very smooth—an unusual addition we have not seen before on display counters. This innovative feature not only enhances functionality but also demonstrates the attention to detail and craftsmanship typical of Grants shopfitter of Edinburgh.
This cabinet is a real corker. The rich mahogany paired with lighter oak creates a striking visual contrast against the polished brass frame, making it truly eye-catching. It has been carefully maintained over the years, with only minor polishing needed in our workshop. There are no major scratches or blemishes, which reflects its excellent condition.
This piece will look stunning wherever it is placed. It is also a very practical piece of furniture for both commercial and residential settings. The graduated and sloping fronts on the display drawers make it easy to showcase items at their best.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
There is as you would expect some signs of previous ownership but nothing major or worth photographing. The glass is all original the top having scratches through use as again you’d expect. There have been no repairs etc. Just a good clean and general polish.
