Description.

Here we have a superb Harris and Sheldon of Birmingham 15 drawer haberdashery counter. The cabinet dates from the 1940s. The cabinet is dark oak framed and the drawer fronts are a lighter oak giving a stunning contrast against the darker frame. Both the sides and the fronts of the drawers are oak with wooden handles. The inner of the cabinet has a glass display shelf which is in two halves to give ease of removal for transportation. The glass top does have some very minor scratches throughout due to use but nothing that prevents viewing. Access to the glass display shelf is via two glass sliding doors with a brass strip to the bottom and runs on brass runners showing the quality of the cabinet with glass finger pulls. The cabinet stands on block legs with adjustable feet. This would make a stunning feature in a kitchen as an island as they are so often used for now as well as in many commercial settings from boutiques to confectionary shops, as well as in the home for craft rooms and the like again a very popular use for them at the moment.

Workshop Report

The cabinet is in good condition it has been through the workshop and had a good polish. The glass top does have some scratches throughout but nothing that effects visibility into the cabinet. One handle has some very slight damage and one of the glass shelves has a nibble on the back underneath so not seen but is there.
