Description

An antique oak draw leaf extending table with 4 barley twist legs and cross stretcher. This is matched with 4 antique mahogany chairs with elegant pierced backs and cabriole legs.

The table suffered a very minor woodworm attack in the distant past but we are completely confident it is long gone.

After thorough preparation and tlc, we professionally spray painted the set. We started off with two coats of shellac based primer then followed with two coats of water based acrylic resin undercoat. We then applied two coats of water based acrylic stain, the table frame and chairs in Spell Grey, the table top in Oberon. We then applied a coat of water based matt varnish - the table top had three coats.

We fitted new seat pads to the sprung seats and then recovered using a fresh contemporary light grey striped fabric this has had fabric protection applied. We fitted new felt pads to the underside of the table to protect the surface of the draw leaves.
