Description

A pretty Flight, Barr & Barr period Worcester porcelain open sugar bowl with gilded gadrooned rim and raised, shaped handles with moulded knops and stylised acanthus leaves. Decorated with a apricot enamel ground, over-gilded with a stylised strawberry vine and further gilt frieze around the shoulders. Gilt band around the foot and the moulded detail of the handles also picked out in gilt. Unmarked, c.1820.

A lovely, large bowl, very useful as a piece of serveware.

It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4") wide across the handles, 12cm (4 3/4") high to the handles and 14.3cm (5 5/8") wide across the body.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Some minor handling wear to the apricot ground and a little to the gilt on the handles in places.
