Description

A superb pair of very fine quality George II large silver scallop shell dishes, with card cut edged handles and set on three cast whelk shape feet. A fine family crest of a lion passant guardant holding a pair of crossed scrolls in its front right paw. Hallmarked for London 1750, maker Samuel Herbert.

They measure 13cm (5 1/8") wide by 13.7cm (5 3/8") long and 3.5cm (1 1/2") high. They weigh an impressive 301g / 9.7ozt.

In truly excellent condition with no damage, dents, dings, etc, or repairs. Minimal handling wear, the marks and crests are in super condition.
