Description

Continental silver chatelaine needlecase or knitters chatelaine. It's unmarked but probably of German or Austrian manufacture. The waist clip is decorated with fruit and a sunburst or shell design and the cross form needle holder has a laurel wreath motif. It's in excellent condition and the chain appears to be original. A lovely piece. The needle case part is 3 3/4" long and it measures approximately 7" long as displayed in photo number 1. It dates to around 1870.
