Description

This tiny French gilt metal sewing set is contained in a real Spanish walnut shell. It was probably made for a child or even a doll as it's so tiny. Even though it's small, all the pieces work - the needlecase has a removeable top and the scissors open. It's has an red velvet pad for the tools and the lid is lined with silk. There is a label in the lid which was probably the retailer - F Bonnehomme, 61-62 Palais Royal. The walnut measures approximately 2 1/4" x 1 3/4". It dates to the early/mid 19th century.
