Lovely pair of French Palais Royal sewing or embroidery scissors with Mother of Pearl handles and gilt metal mounts. The Palais Royal in Paris housed many elegant shops and galleries where the finest items could be purchased. These scissors would once have been part of a very elaborate sewing set or work box. They are in excellent condition although there is some age discolouration to the steel blades but no rust and they still cut well. They measure 3 3/4" long and just over 1 1/2" at the widest part of the bows.
