Pretty Palais Royal Mother of Pearl needlecase with gilt metal ferrule and beaded detail to edge. The galleries and shops at the famous Palais Royal in Paris sold only the finest goods. This would once have been part of a lovely workbox or sewing set. The Mother of Pearl has real lustre and is in excellent condition. Any lines you see are a natural feature and not cracks or damage and the top is a good snug fit. There is a natural fault in the pearl on one side like a dent, shown in the photos Closed it measures 3 1/4" long.
