Vernis Martin Bodkin Case or Billet-Doux

Photos

Description

This lovely Vernis Martin item is either a billet-doux case or a bodkin case, it seems they could be used for either purpose! It’s profusely decorated with insects and is in superb condition. If it's had any restoration I can't see where. The tortoiseshell liner is also undamaged apart from a minute chip on the edge as shown in the photos. It measures 5″ long and dates to around 1780. Stock Ref: sc4507
I prefer payment by bank transfer, details on request.
I regret that due to current regulations I am unable to ship ivory items to the United States, even though all items are CITES compliant.
