It is a absolute delight to bring to the market this Stunning mahogany ormolu mounted, musical table clock of large proportions. This clock is of fantastic quality standing a mighty 37 inches high (a little over 3 feet). The inverted bell top case with canted corners to the edge supporting the crisp ormolu castings stands on 4 stunning cast feet, all the castings are in perfect crisp condition. The case with two brass carrying handles maintains its original finish and silks to the original side and front fret work this piece has been very well looked afterThe clock is fronted by a 10.1/4 inch arched dial with a silvered brass chapter ring with a stunning matted centre and blued steel hands. Around the dial and in the arch is some beautiful spandrels oozing with detail. To the top of the arch are the strike/silent and tune selection dials.
As you can see from the subsidiary dials this clock doesn’t just play 1 musical tune but SIX …….. They are Richer’s Hornpipe, Jigg by Green, Hornpipe, Lady hopes reel, Mumfrina, Garland of love. I have played all of the tunes several times while adjusting the hammers to accomplish the best resonance of the bells. I can honestly say all six tunes play beautifully each one is around 1 minute in length. Unfortunately I’m unable to upload the videos i have of the music to the advert but i have full length videos of all 6 tunes which I’m able to send upon request via email or WhatsApp.
The triple fusee 8 day movement is signed “French Royal exchange London” has been fully serviced by P.K.CLOCKS of Mansfield. The movement has in total 15 bells. 13 for the musical side of the clockand 2 for the time strikes. The 5 pillar movement strikes on both bells every 15 minute then at the top of the hour it will strike the hours on one bell then play the selected tune. All tunes have to be selected manually. If you happen to miss the top of the hour the movement has a pull repeat function so you can benefit from hearing your favourite tune play again.
I have tried my very best to capture as much detail in my pictures as possible but as you can imagine this clock has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I would welcome any interested persons to view the clock in the flesh to truly appreciate the size, quality and sound of this piece. Viewing can be arranged by appointment only.
The clock stands 37 inches high, 20 inches wide and 14 inches deep this is not a small clock.
If the asking price is paid in full then I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland, Wales and the Scottish lowlands. I will also provide a 2 years guarantee under these circumstances. This is the 51same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads
If a lesser off is accepted then this will be sold as a trade sale with the clock as described and with shipping costs the responsibility of the buyer.
