It is an absolute pleasure to be able to offer this magnificent carriage clock for sale. This beautiful 19th century J.DEJARDIN gilt brass intricately engraved clock is absolutely stunning with alarm and push repeat function. The 7” porcelain dial is in perfect condition with a vibrantly coloured monophase and three subsidiary dials showing the date alarm and day (in French).
The 8-day spring driven movement is in a stunning condition with exposed lever and wheel work to the back plate and still maintains its original lever escapement. The movement is in full working order keeping fantastic time. The movement strikes the hour and half hour on a small, elegant sounding bell, with the alarm function striking the same bell.
As you can see from the pictures this case is in fantastic condition. The engraving is outstanding and gives the clock that extra special touch, considering when this clock was made the intricacy of the engraving is just something else. All 5 glasses are in perfect condition, the rear door glass has been professionally replaced by Westmorland Glass of chesterfield who specialise in carriage clock glass and barometer glass replacements.
I would describe the overall condition of this clock as fantastic and ready to take place in any home.
Although I have tried my best to show as much detail in my picture as I can. I would welcome any interested parties to come and view the clock to make sure they are satisfied with the quality of this piece before making such an investment.
Should the buy it now price be paid in full I will deliver and set up and provide a 12 months guarantee free of charge in England, Wales and the Scottish lowlands.
