Description

An 18 century plug bayonet. Very probably Spanish about 1760-80 brass finial leading to a narrow mahogany shaft the hilt joining the cross guard with a bone ball ,the cross guard showing signs of gilding. The blade single edged tapered down to a spear point . The blade 27 cm x 3.3 cm wide at the top . the handle 13.5 cm the cross guard 7 cm . The mahogany shaft has a bend and the finial is slightly off centre. But the blade is tight in the hilt is not bent it’s .5 cm thick at the top so a substantial blade. This hasn’t been cleaned and it will come up really well.
