Description

This attractive pig bench is a rustic item dating from approx. 1820. It has push-in legs that splay outwards and the top is constructed from a single plank of oak. It has a nice washed out colour and an industrial feel. It would make a nice garden seat or large coffee table. The legs are not fixed and the bench can be dismantled.

Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected from an antique country piece, and there is some fading and discolouration. There are some signs of old woodworm damage - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution. There is some wood shrinkage cracking. Because of the method of construction the bench feels quite wobbly, and depending on what it is to be used for the purchaser may need to find a way to fix or stabilise the legs once it is in situ.

The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 45cm high, 167.5cm wide, 34cm deep (to maximums).
