A finely painted Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) depicting a pair of white cranes standing beneath the sweeping branches of an ancient pine. The scene is set against a softly graded sky, shifting from warm tones to pale blue, creating a gentle sense of dawn or dusk. The subtle palette lend the painting a quiet elegance, allowing the cranes to take centre stage. Mounted on an ornate brocade border with plain silk sections above and below, the scroll hangs beautifully and remains in very good condition. A timeless and uplifting work, ideal for adding a touch of Japanese refinement and symbolism to any interior.
