Description

A beautiful walnut kneehole desk from the Georgian period, offered in excellent antique condition. The top displays a lovely, well‑figured grain enhanced by subtle feather‑banding and the gentle signs of age that speak to centuries of careful use. The drawer arrangement of a long top drawer above an arched kneehole, flanked by three drawers to each side. Each drawer retains its decorative brass handles, runs smoothly, and provides excellent storage. Additional storage is found within the kneehole itself, where a small central cupboard, complete with working key, offers a charming extra compartment. As with all genuine antiques, there are minor imperfections as shown in the photographs however, the whole desk stands solidly, with a pleasing presence and a wonderfully tactile finish. A versatile and characterful piece, equally at home in a study, bedroom, or living space, and full of the warmth, practicality, and quiet dignity that define good Georgian furniture.
