Description

A handsome Victorian mahogany library chair of generous proportions, presented in excellent antique condition. Upholstered in rich deep-green leather across the back, seat, and armrests, it has a wonderfully inviting, club-room presence. The mahogany frame displays a warm, well-figured patina that complements the depth of the leather and accentuates the quality of the carving. Solid and sturdy with no creaks or wobbles. The leather-covered arms, finished with studded trim, are supported by finely turned spindles. It stands on turned front legs and splayed rear legs, all terminating in the original castors. Comfortable, characterful, and full of late-19th-century charm, this is an excellent example of Victorian craftsmanship, perfect for a study, library, or reading corner.
