Description

A finely proportioned Japanese cha-tansu (tea cabinet), crafted from richly grained keyaki wood. Constructed in two sections for ease of transport, the cabinet balances practicality with craftsmanship. The upper section presents four sliding doors with round metal pulls, perfectly suited for storing tea utensils or ceramics. Beneath, a pair of glass-fronted sliding doors reveals on one side a small cupboard with sliding panels, a beautifully shaped shelf, and a drawer, while the opposite side offers open shelving and another compact cupboard. The base section provides further versatility, with an additional cupboard fitted with sliding doors, complemented by drawers positioned to the side and below. Together, these elements create generous storage while preserving visual harmony. This piece represents the Japanese ideal of form united with function, its meticulous joinery and warm natural finish highlighting the expressive character of the wood.
