Description

An elegant and well-proportioned satinwood compactum wardrobe of architectural form, finely veneered throughout in book-matched and quarter-cut satinwood displaying a warm, honeyed patina. The façade is arranged with a central bank of four graduated drawers, fitted with circular turned metal pulls, flanked by full-height cupboards to either side. Above, a pair of central doors is enriched with oval marquetry reserves composed of scrolling foliate motifs, framed by delicately inlaid borders.
A continuous inlaid frieze band of scrolling floral ornament runs beneath the shaped cornice, unifying the design and emphasising the refined craftsmanship. The piece is raised on turned tapering legs, enhancing its lightness and elegance despite its substantial scale.
The interior is thoughtfully arranged, with the side compartments opening to reveal full-height hanging spaces fitted with brass hooks and rails, while the central drawers offer generous storage. Behind the upper doors, fitted shelving provides additional practicality. The interior surfaces retain a warm, original finish, consistent with the exterior.
