Art Deco Period Egyptian Revival Wall Mirror

Description
A rare Egyptian Revival mirror from the Art Deco period, finely carved in solid walnut and dating from mid to late 1920s. Inspired by the widespread fascination with ancient Egypt following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922, the piece combines traditional Egyptian motifs with the clean lines and bold aesthetic of the Art Deco period.The frame is decorated with detailed carvings throughout, including: a central winged scarab beetle flanked by cobras, symbolising rebirth and protection. To the lower left, a pyramid with a finely carved lion in relief. To the lower right, a tall papyrus plant.
In good, vintage condition, expected age related wear with possible historic repairs consistent with age and use.
