Description

This fine antique walnut longcase clock features an elegant arched brass dial signed by Edward Upjohn of Exon (Exeter), a renowned clockmaker of the period. The 8-day movement strikes the hours on a bell, showcasing both quality craftsmanship and practical timekeeping. The beautifully figured walnut case is enriched with delicate crossbanded inlay, a shaped plinth base, and a finely carved arch with brass finials, adding sophistication and grandeur.

The brass dial is attractively detailed with Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, and a calendar aperture, all framed by decorative gilt spandrels. This tall case clock exemplifies Georgian craftsmanship.

A genuine example of 18th-century English horology, this longcase clock combines precision engineering with timeless style.
