A finely executed oil painting on canvas depicting an elegant still life arrangement of roses and grapes, signed lower right C. B. Brough.

The composition is beautifully balanced, with richly coloured blooms set against a soft, atmospheric background, alongside a naturalistic grouping of dark grapes. The artist demonstrates a confident hand, particularly in the delicate handling of petals and the subtle tonal transitions within the foliage.

The painting retains its original gilt frame, which is of good quality with classical moulded decoration, complementing the subject matter perfectly.

While the artist is not widely recorded, the style and execution suggest a late 19th to early 20th century date, in keeping with traditional Victorian and Edwardian still life painting.
