Description

A most unusual and beautifully carved 19th century walnut tray table raised on its original folding stand. This elegant and highly decorative piece combines practicality with fine craftsmanship, making it both a functional occasional table and an attractive decorative object.

The removable tray top is richly carved with intricate floral and foliate motifs arranged within geometric panels surrounding a central roundel. The quality of the carving is particularly striking, with delicate detail and well-defined patterns giving the surface wonderful texture and visual interest. The tray features shaped sides with integrated carrying handles and decorative brass hinges, allowing it to fold neatly when required.

The tray rests upon a traditional folding walnut stand with turned legs and stretchers, providing both stability and a pleasingly light, elegant profile. The stand folds easily for storage, making the piece extremely practical for use as a drinks table, tea tray stand or occasional side table.
