Description

A fine and well-proportioned set of six George III mahogany dining chairs, English, circa 1800, in the Hepplewhite taste.

Each chair features an elegant shield-shaped back with a finely pierced and carved splat . The frames are raised on square, tapering legs united by stretchers, giving the chairs a refined and well-balanced stance.

The chairs are of good colour and patination throughout and are presented in excellent condition, with later upholstered drop-in seats in a neutral fabric, making them ready for immediate use. A versatile and timeless set, equally suited to a period dining room or a more contemporary interior.
