Antique leather saddle/sandwich case
hunting/equestrian.

This is a fine example of an early 20th century equestrian or hunting saddle mounted sandwich case.
A luxury item dating to circa 1900. It would have been attached to the horse's saddle and would provide a well stored snack whilst out in the field.

The beautifully stitched brown leather outer case has a lovely polished finish. It has adjustable mounting straps and a handheld strap. The opening flap also has a buckled fastening, which opens to reveal the handmade polished aluminium sandwich box with its ingenious double hinged opening for easy access to lunch.
This leather saddle/sandwich case is in remarkable original condition with a lovely natural patina.
