Description

This most impressive and highly decorative pair of 18th century style wall brackets are carved from solid wood in an elaborated scrolled design with foliate and shell embellishments. They are traditionally hand finished in gesso with a red base colour and gold leaf.

The gold leaf has an aged and patinated surface and there are some subtle differences to the colour of the gold caused by age and different environments.
Both brackets have slotted metal hanging plates on the reverse for wall mounting onto two screws.
Both brackets are in good original condition.
Italian, circa 1930
