Early 20th century Judge's gown case

Description

The tailor’s label inside the case for Ede son and Ravenscroft show this case and gown was supplied when King George V was on the throne and Alexandra was the Queen mother (she died in 1925). The black metal case with lock the front and brass swan neck handle to the rear, would have held Mr Justice Elwes’ Judge’s gown.

Painted black with blue interior and gilt lettering to the front, the edges with a gilt border.
