Description

A rather attractive provincial 19th century shop table with two deep drawers. The brass handles are original (only being removed by us for cleaning) and the original indentation remains where they have knocked against the wood for many years. The top has a lovely rich colour and the base retains the original time worn paint. Inset into the top is a brass lozenge slot where money would have been dropped through into the once lockable drawer on the left.
The table was possibly estate made with the back showing traces of having been adapted from an older drop leaf table. There are marks and stains on the top consistent with age and daily use of the table.
