Provincial estate made George III corner cupboard

Description

So often faked in the shabby chic look this, as they say, is the real deal. Here stands a rather charming George III provincial corner cupboard dating 1780-1800. Made from pine and with the original well-patinated paint finish, the little chap oozes charm from every splinter. Inside the cupboard is left in its original state, with at least four different layers of wallpaper as fashions have changed.

Probably made by the estate carpenter for a less grand part of the house - often the servant’s quarters. The back of the door appears to have been painted later, but a rather pleasing green in keeping with the piece. Rather a heavy, substantial Georgian corner cupboard.
