Description
This is a good quality, heavy wall mirror in a beautiful Art Nouveau design with stylised mermaids leaning into a central cameo crest. The mirror is beautifully hand carved and gilded from a piece of solid slate and is decorated to the frame with cornucopia and scrolling leaves with a winged cherub cartouche to the base. The Art Nouveau design is really stylish and dates from the late 19th century circa 1890.The mirror glass is in good useable condition with some ageing marks to the glass as would be expected.
The mirror measures 45 cms by 36 cms overall.
