Description
A really beautiful 19th century giltwood cheval mirror in superb condition dating from around 1870.This has its original gilding in beautiful order with the large arched mirror having a magnificent crest with scrolling acanthus leaves and a central owl with wings outstretched.
The supporting frame is also beautifully gilded and decorated with further acanthus detail and trailing vines rising up the columns to grand gilded finials at the top.
A real showstopper of a mirror that’s a knockout in any situation.
Excellent original condition and original mirror plate glass in good clean condition.
Imposing in style and size this measures 178 cms high by 83 cms wide by 50 cms deep.
