Description

This is a beautiful mid 19th century French Empire period room screen of Rococo style circa 1860. The fine quality screen is in hand carved giltwood with beautiful gilded panels framing the large glass mirrors.

The huge central oval mirror is the original fine quality glass with deep cut bevelled edge. The side panels also have their original mercury glass mirror plates in really good condition with some characterful ageing.

The panels all have hand carved floral detail in relief and carved acanthus leaf scrolls and crest to the top.

This has an elegant trellis design to both front and back in carved and gilded hardwood.

The central panel measures 184 cms in height (6 feet) and is 82 cms wide. The two side panels are 166 cms by 40 cms wide.
