Description

A handsome 19th century sarcophagus shaped tea caddy. The exterior is veneered in the richness of burr yew wood, each section of wood outlined with boxwood stringing. The fitted interior has 2 removable lidded tea boxes, and a central space for a mixing bowl. Crushed deep red velvet lends sumptuousness to the inner lid. It has pressed brass handles and feet. A fine Georgian piece with fabulous colour. Circa 1800
