Description

The carved and gilded case of this wall hanging dial clock gives it a decorative style that is unusual, simple yet sumptuous. The 14 inch dial is wooden, and like the glass is convex. The original painted surface is unrestored, with areas where the paint has flaked off. The gilded and painted surround is in very good original condition with expected wear to the gilding. Between the front and back mouldings of the case is a middle area painted a caramel brown. The 8-day brass movement is in good working order. This is an interesting and attractive time piece dating from the late 19th century.
