A little Bear seeks a home for Christmas. This is a large Black Forest wooden carving of a standing bear. Probably carved in or around the town of Brienz in Switzerland, in the early years of the 20th century, this is an unusually large study of a bear. It is carved standing on a rounded rock, and has glass eyes. It has one tooth missing and possibly re-painting in the mouth, otherwise it is in very good order.Height 96cm (37 3/4") Base approx 30cm (12")
