Description

Fine Georgian mahogany Canterbury dating from the early 19th cenury. It is a small portable music stand with divisions for holding sheet music/books.
1st appearing in the late 18th century, this early example has lovely clean lines. The carrying handle is carved into the central section. A single useful drawer sits below the divisions, and fine turned legs with brass casters complete the maneuverability of the Canterbury. The brassware is all original.
In excellent original condition, this small piece of furniture will always be useful, for its intended purpose or as a repository for magazine-newspaper-book...
