Description
An exceptional example of the 19th century Correction Chair, designed for the health of childrens backs. This chair is made of beech wood which was surfaced to simulate rosewood. It has a curved cushion back rail with fine turned spindles. An oval seat retains its original caning in excellent condition.The high turned shaped legs are elegant, strengthened with pairs of stretchers.
Completely original, with only a mended break to the top rail, the chair has a lovely surface and colour. Circa 1880
