Description

Early 19th century casket shaped ladies box. It is veneered with beatifully figured burr yew wood, and inlaid with contrasting fine line decoration. A faded print of a woman and child adorns the top of the lid. Inside is fitted with a tray which once had sections for sewing items (now perfect for jewellery or other treasures). The whole of the interior is lined in its original turquoise paper. Original pressed brass ring handles abd small brass ball feet complete this lovely treasure of a box. Circa 1820
