We have for sale a rather lovely Danish Volmer Bahner silver & blue enamel butterfly brooch dating to the 1960s to 1970s.

This very attractive silver brooch is of a typical Volmer Bahner Modenist naturistic design consisting of 5 silver guilloché blue enamel butterflies arranged in a circle. The back of one of the butterflies carries the Volmer Bahner VB mark along with the marks Sterling and Denmark.

The brooch is 2.4cm in diameter and is in a good vintage condition other than some light surface ware to the enamel.

Volmer Bahner was born in 1912 and established his workshop in Copenhagen in 1939 making fine silver guilloché jewellery inspired by insects and flowers. He later registered his company Volmer Bahner & Co along with his makers mark VB in 1962. Following his retirement in 1987 the company was re registered in 1988 and continued trading until 2004.
