We have for sale a very decorative set of four dessert plates by the excellent Austrian porcelain manufacturer Fischer and Meig of Perkenhammer, circa 1860-1870.

These rather stunning plates are decorated in green, red and gilt with a very attractive Persian inspired pattern depicting a bird sitting at the centre of a curvilinear geometrical botanical design. The bird is facing to the right in two of the plates and to the left in the other two plates. Three of the plates have the 1860-70 impressed F&M (Fischer and Meig) mark to the reverse.

The plates are 8.5 inches in diameter and are all in a very good condition with no chips cracks or repairs, although there is a little bit of wear to the gilt in places.
