We have for sale a rather hard to find example of a Regency Rockingham porcelain plate.

This attractive and more unusual Rockingham plate is of a ornate gadrooned moulded rim with peripheral projections along with rope twist and shell motif around a wide green and gilt border containing four floral panels which in turn surrounds a central gilt design. The reverse of the plate carries the red griffin mark dating the plate to somewhere around 1826-1830.

The plate is 9.5 inches (24cm) in diameter and other than some aging and some loss of gilt is in a remarkably good condition. Plates of this design have a tendency to have damage to the peripheral projections. This example has no losses and no chips, cracks or repairs.
