We have for sale lovely late Victorian pierced ink stand and silver mounted inkwell by Sibray, Hall & Co.

The inkstand is of an elongated oval lobed and pierced form on four bun feet with a central hobnail glass and silver mounted inkwell. The inkstand and silver fittings carry the makers marks for Sibray, Hall & Co and full English hallmarks for London 1898.

The ink stand is 10.25 (26cm) long, 4.5 inches (11.4cm) wide and the inkwell is 2.5 inches (6.4cm) high. The ink stand and ink well are both in a very good antique condition, there is some rubbing to the easily legible makers marks and hallmarks to the inkstand and there is a little play in the hinge of the lid to the inkwell. There is also a slight imperfection visible in the upper surface of the ink stand around the location of one foot, see image 3, bottom left.
