Description

We have for sale a very attractive and quite striking Victorian Doulton Burslem ovoid baluster vase.

This large ovoid baluster vase of classical form with gilded cobalt blue handles extending from the body via a mask face to a short flared cobalt blue and gilt neck. The vase is beautifully decorated with a large pose of daffodils in blue on a gilded ivory ground to the front and with a similar but smaller pose of daffodils in blue on a gilded ivory ground to the rear. The base of the vase carries brown printed Doulton Burslem marks along with the England mark circa 1891-1900 along with the impressed marks Ivory, Doulton and the number 6644.

The vase is approximately 9&1/2 inches (24.1cm) high and is in an excellent condition with virtually no wear to the decoration and just a small firing fault in the decoration to the front, see the sixth photograph.
