For sale we have a lovely elegant 18th century soft paste Caughley cup and saucer.

The cup and saucer is of a fluted form and both are decorated with a gilt rim a cobalt blue border to the interior painted in gilt with a double helix. The body of the saucer is painted with three peripheral gilt floral sprigs and a central gilt floral sprig within a gilt band. The exterior of the fluted cup is also decorated with 3 gilt sprigs.

The saucer is 5 &1/2 inches (14cm) in diameter and the cup is just over 2 &1/2 inches (6.5cm). Both are in a good antique condition with no chips cracks or repairs but the expected wear to the gilt that one normally finds in porcelain of this period.
