Description

We have the pleasure of being able to offer this 18th century Duesbury Derby dessert dish.

The dish is of a lobed lobed lozenge shaped form painted in the manner of Edward Withers with a polychome design of a central bouqet of flowers, scattered floral sprigs within puce swags and a gilded Smith's blue and gilt border. The base of the dish is marked with the crown and a D in blue indicating that the piece was manufactured in the Nottingham Road works circa 1775-80

The dish is just over 12 inches long (approximately 31cm) and is in an excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and only minimal wear to the decoration and gilt.
