Description

We have the pleasure of being able to offer this striking pair of Minton cups and saucers.

This pair of Gadrooned porcelain Minton "Q" Shape cups and saucers are decorated in a green and gilt rococo design incorporating vine leaves and grapes, all on a white ground. The bases are marked with the pattern number 3760 in red and the Mortlock, 18 Regent St mark. William and John Mortlock were major retailers of fine fashionable porcelain during this period. That the cups and saucers carry no other makers marks is hardly surprising seeing as Mortlock could dictate that the only marks exhibited on the porcelain they sold should be the Mortlock mark.

The cups are approximately 4 & 1/2 inches (11.4cm) in diameter and the cups and saucers are all in an excellent with no chips, cracks or repairs, although one saucer has a slight defect to the foot ring.
