We have for sale the perfect gift, a rather lovely and versatile mid 20th century large 800 silver gilt tigers eye pendant brooch.

This lovely Modernist tigers eye pendant brooch consists of a large oval tigers set in a silver gilt frame decorated with 6 silver shields each carrying an abstract motif. The brooch is also fitted with a further beautifully hinged silver shield shaped bail matching those decorating the frame, thus allowing this piece of jewellery to be worn either as a very striking pendant or a brooch. The design is truly stunning. The back of the pendant brooch is marked 800 suggestive of having been made in Northern Europe and carries a makers mark which we have not been able to identify. The brooch probably dates to somewhere around the 1960s.

The brooch is approximately 1.8 inches (4.5cm) wide including the folded out bail, weighs 10.3g by our digital scales and is in a very good vintage condition.
