For sale we have a very attractive silver sauce or gravy boat by the excellent silversmith S Blanckensee & Son of Frederick Street & Great Hampton Street, Birmingham.

This Lovely gravy boat has an attractive gadrooned rimmed oval body extending to an attractive high looped open handle. The gravy boat stands on 3 legs each terminating in hoof feet. The legs in turn extend to acanthus details at their junctions with the body. The gravy boat carries full hallmarks for Chester 1936, along with the makers marks for S Blanckensee & Son.

The gravy boat is 3.1 inches (8cm high) to the top of the loop handle, 6 inches (15.2cm) long and weighs 126.8g (just over 4 ounces) according to our digital scales. The jug is in a very good to excellent condition with good clear, but slightly worn hallmarks. The gravy boat stands well, but there is a slight deformation to the interior of the bowl above the front foot.
