Description

We have the pleasure of being able to offer this lovely Timor 9ct gold wristwatch.

This 9ct gold wristwatch is a bit of a stunner, and it really captures elegance of the 1950s. The watch has a lovely, original cream textured dial with a gold hour and minute hands and a subsidiary second hand. The dial is signed Timor and H.L. Brown and Sons Ltd and sits beneath the original acrylic lens. The lens carries some superficial scratches but is in a reasonably good serviceable condition.

On opening the back of the case the inside of the case back is signed Stolkace, British Made, G. A. S. and carries hallmarks for 9ct gold, Chester 1952. The case encapsulates a lovely clean 17 jewel Swiss Timor signed movement and this has been recently serviced by our very well established watchmaker. It is very easy to see the heritage of this watch in that it is obviously based on the 15 jewel 6060 calibre movement used in the Timor military watches from the WW2 period.

The watch head measures approximately 1 & 11/16 inches (43 mm) from lug to lug, and is in a very good vintage condition with no dents or dings, although the case back does carry a few minor surface marks and scratches commensurate with 61 years of careful use. The watch is presented on brown leather strap. The back of the watch has not been inscribed.
