Georgian Silver Marrow Scoop

Description

A fine example of a George III plain silver marrow scoop with full clear hallmarks for Thomas Northcote, London 1787. The idea of the marrow scoop was developed during the 1680’s, when the marrow spoon was first created as a utensil purely for the eating of bone marrow, which at the time was considered a delicacy. An attractive piece of Georgian silver, a great item of interest.

In good antique condition considering it is over 200 years old!
